How i love this Song. "Soft Emotion" is an extremely catchy tune that spreads a breeze of summer in the last days of winter. People told me that in other parts of Europe the spring is already there, here in Moscow of course not - unfortunately. But with Azoto in my ears it's easy to hold on and think about smelting ice-cream in the sun...
John Miles landete mit "Music" 1976 einen unerwarteten und ausserordentlichen Erfolg der in seiner Karriere einmalig bleiben sollte. Kurz darauf versuchte er sich auch in Disco mit dem Song "Slow Down". Schwungvoll und kantig orchestriert, klingt der Track fast wie die Hintergrundmusik zu einer Verfolgungsjagd aus einem französischen Actionfilm jener Jahre. zu finden auf der LP "Stranger in the City".
John Miles had with "Music" in 1976 an extraordinary and singular success. Afterwards he halso find his way to Disco and published on the LP "Stranger in the City" the track "Slow Down", a short and fast song that sounds like a perfect score for a car-chase in a french action movie of these days.
Größere Bekanntheit erlangte die kurzlebige Formation "Destination" mit ihrer Coverversion des Klassikers "Move On Up" im Jahre 1979. Da der Song Teil des Soundtracks des Films "Studio 54" war, ist er auch heute recht populär. Ein weiteres Schmuckstück auf der Original-LP "From beginning to End"war die "Castles Suite". Üppig und Flott instrumentiert legt uns jene "Suite" noch einmal die reine Lehre des 1979 ausgehenden Discozeitalters dar.

Ein in Vergessenheit geratener Discotrack aus Deutschland ist "Disco Cisco" von "Carsten Bohn's Bandstand" von 1978. Für gewöhnlich glänzten deutsche Discoproduktionen durch die Abwesenheit jeglicher glaubwürdiger Funk- oder blackmusic Elemente, nicht so aber "Disco Cisco". Macher war hier - wie der Bandname bereits verrät - Carsten Bohn, der offenbar äußerst vielseitig im Musikgeschäft tätig war. Erschienen ist der Track auf der LP "Mother Goose Shoes", auf der im Hintergrund die erstklassigen backing-girls Claudia Schwarz und Gitta Walther singen. jene waren fester Bestandteil bei Produktionen von Donna Summer, Amanda Lear, Giorgio Moroder und einigen anderen Discogrößen.
A forgotten german Disco track is "Disco Cisco" of "Carsten Bohn's Bandstand" made in 1978. Creator was the busy musician Carsten Bohn, published was the Song on the LP "Mother Goose Shoes". By the way, the backing vocals were song by Claudia Schwarzand Gitta Walther, those who were standard parts of Amanda Lear's, Donna Summer's or Giorgio Moroder's records...
Ein schmissiger Titel von Gregg Diamonds Projekt Bionic Boogie ist "Risky Changes". Vor allem die erste Minute hat es in sich und überzeugt mein Disco-ohr. Der Track erschien 1977 auf der LP Bionic Boogie aus der ich am 3. Dezember 2008bereits den Titel "Big West"gepostet hab.

Zu den Glanzstücken der etwas unübersichtlichen Veröffentlichungen der "Chocolat's" gehört "Orfeu Negro" aus dem Jahre 1977. Ein sehr romantisch-melancholisches Stück mit großem Orchester und einem Hauch Südamerika-Sehnsucht. Schließlich wurde das Stück einmal für den Oscar und Golden Globe prämierten Film "Orfeu Negro" aus brasilianisch-französisch-italienischer Produktion geschrieben. Keine geringeren als die Bossa-Nova Legenden Luiz Bonfa und Antonio Carlos Jobim steuerten den weltbekannten Soundtrack dazu.
Die hier präsentierte Discoversion der "Chocolat's war übrigens ein Projekt des belgischen Produzenten Jean Vanloo der später auch Patrick Hernandez' Superhit "Born to be Alive" produzieren sollte. Gemixt wurde Orfeu Negro - wie auch das Titelstück der Platte "The Kings of Clubs"- von Tom Moulton.
To the highlights of the confusing publishings made by The "Chocolat's" belongs "Orfeu Negro". A very romantic-melancholic composition with huge orchester and a breeze of southamerican nostalgia. Written was Orfeu Negro for a brazilian-italian-french movie of 1959 (movie "Black Orpheus"), a production that earned a range of prizes like the Oscar and the Golden Globe and was also for it's Soundtrack made by Luiz Bonfa and Antonio Carlos Jobim famous.
The discoversion i present here was made in 1977 by the belgian producer Jean Vanloo (he also produced Patrick Hernandez' "Born to be Alive"). Orfeu Negro was released on the 12" "The Kings of Clubs" and was mixed by Tom Moulton.
