Who is in - who is out, tell me tell me tell me...
Amanda Lear war wohl eine der schillerndsten Acts der Discojahre. Mit Auftakt der Discoszene Mitte der 70er bis über ihren Ausklang lieferte die geheimnisvolle Muse Salvador Dalis eine Menge meist recht beachtenswerter, immer gut produzierter Stücke. Garant dafür war nicht zuletzt ihr Produzent Anthony Monn, der neben Giorgio Moroder mit seinen vielfältigen Discoproduktionen wesentlichen Anteil am Mythos des Munich Sounds hatte.
Der hier vorgestellte Titel entstand 1979 und war Teil des Albums Never Trust a pretty face. Ich persönlich empfinde den Titel als stark von Barry Manilows "Copacapana" inspiriert. Die Congas, die Damenchöre, die Bläser, die Streicher - im Grunde wie bei vielen Discostücken nur eben besonders ähnlich zum Arrangement bei Copacabana.
Amanda lear was surely one of the most interesting disco-acts during the disco-years in Europe. From the beginnig of disco to it's fade-out she made a lot of nice Lp's, always solid produced. The man behind her was Anthony Monn, one of the famous producers that created the famous "Munich Sound".
The track here was published 1979 on her LP Never trust a pretty face. in my ears it's heavily inspired by Barry Manilows "Copacabana". The congas, the chorus of the background ladies, the trumpets, the violens - very common things for discotracks, but here similar arranged to Copa...

Ausgestrahlt wurde die Sendung live in über 30 Ländern - darunter Russland und Jordanien - moderiert von Thomas Gottschalk.
