One of my favourite performances of Germany made at the Eurovision Song Contest was "Ein Lied kann eine Brücke sein" (directly translated: a song can be a bridge) of Joy Fleming in 1975. Unfortunately the song only reached place 17 in a field of 19. However, the track is fantastic. Strong-voiced, Joy Fleming acts like a german Gloria Gaynor while the Orchestra arrangements are already Disco-alike. By the way, there is also an english version of that song called "A Bridge Of Love"...
Joy Fleming live at the Contest with Madeleine Bell and Sue Glover as backing girls (Cerrone, Donna Summer, Madleen Kane...)

There are so many great songs from Eurovision. I miss live sound in it now that the music is most recorded, look at the great start in that Joy Fleming song with the orchestra conductor moving his feet, though it is still good spectacle!
I'll be watching from here tonight, to see what happens with this year not so good Spanish entry!
i will be there! live! this opportunity to live in a city where it happens comes not so often. especially when you live usually in Berlin... Germany one only one time more than 25 years ago...
